Prices
Custom work is billed by the hour, and you get a price range at the consult before anything is booked. Flash is priced on the sheet. Size and placement can move it a little.
Custom piece
Drawn for you after a consult. Most pieces take one to three sessions.
Full-day session
Six hours in the chair for sleeves, back pieces and large work.
Cover-up consult
We look at the old piece in person and tell you honestly what can go over it.
Wall flash
Pick a design off the sheet. Tattooed the same day when an artist is free.
Small script and symbols
Names, dates and simple linework up to about three inches.
Touch-up
Any spots that heal light get filled in once the skin has settled.
Aftercare kit
Unscented soap, healing balm and second-skin film, enough for two weeks.

Every custom piece starts at the table.
Iron Needle opened on Sunset in 2017 with two artists and a wall of flash. Custom work still starts the same way. You sit down with your artist, talk through the idea and the placement, and leave with a price range. The drawing is ready on the day, and nothing gets tattooed until you are happy with it.

Do you take walk-ins?
For flash, yes, on Fridays and Saturdays when an artist is free. Custom work is booked through a consult so the drawing is ready on the day.
How does the deposit work?
A $100 deposit holds your date and comes off the final price. Give us 48 hours notice to move the appointment and the deposit carries over.
Do I need ID?
Yes. You must be 18 or older with a government photo ID. We do not tattoo minors, even with a parent present.
How should I prepare?
Eat a real meal, sleep well, and skip alcohol for a day before. Wear clothes that give easy access to the spot.
